Please answer all questions in this test on Transport in Flowering Plants.

  1. Define the term root pressure.
  2. Define the term transpiration.
  3. Describe the uptake of water into the plant.  In your answer, refer to each of the following; root hairs, root cortex, xylem, osmosis, diffusion, root pressure.
